Hanoi : Eating Pho (Pho Ga Dac Biet)

Hanoi - Pho (pronounced as “fur”) is a popular street dish in Vietnam. It is normally served in beef or chicken. Pho Bo (Beef Noodle Soup) and Pho Ga (Chicken Noodle Soup) are equally loved by the locals.

We were searching for this particular stall recommended by the staff at our dorm. It took us like more than half an hour to actually found it.

Thanks to the guys for sorting out the confusing map and the girls for shouting all the way because of the ferocious traffic in Hanoi. Well, it keeps the guys alert as well. Hehehe!

Each and every food outlet or street stall are designed with very low tables and tiny chairs in Hanoi. We feel like we were back into our kindergarten time. Hehehe! All the hungry people.

We ordered both Pho Bo and Pho Ga for a try. I must admit that we were all extremely excited about Pho. Thats part of the reason we came here too!

We were served a bowl of cilipadi with rosemary. As well as a bowl of lime.

The common combination. A bowl of your own choice of Pho. Add the sides accordingly to your preferences. Each ingredient added gives different taste and fragrant to your bowl of Pho. Experiment it!

Pho Ga (Chicken Noodle Soup) for Ryan because Ryan dont take Beef

Pho Bo (Beef Noodle Soup) for everyone else.

Squeeeze a lil bit of lime, it makes the whole bowl of pho taste refreshing!

But for myself.. i am in love with this…

The Garlic Juice…

Ill add a lot a lot and alot and… Yay! time to dig iN! *slurps*

It is around RM6 per bowl of Pho for us. Yes. For us. Because the local eats at different price. We pay almost double the price for every street food we ate at Hanoi. We look like a typical tourist obviously

My personal comment : For the whole group of hungry eaters, Pho turned out to be the less inviting dish throughout the whole vietnam eating experience. We dint crave for it nor hunting for the second time. I believe reason being is.. all of us had tried even more delicious Pho either in Melbourne, Taiwan, HongKong, Bangkok and other countries. Accordingly to Salted Egg aka Sin Tan, he claimed that maybe the pho we have all tried in other places had been improvise and make it a better dish to offer. And the plain pho originated from Vietnam is just a normal one. the broth is lack of the strong flavor. Simple and nothing much special. Anyway.. Not my favourite one.

Please click here and here for my all time favourite Pho *slurps*
