Melbourne CBD – Pho Bo Ga Mekong Vietnam is one of the very very best Vietnamese Restaurant in Melbourne CBD. One of the MUST GO restaurant for a lot of superstar me as well. My previous visit to Mekong. ^^
Pho Bo Ga Mekong Vietnam is located at Swanston Street, intersection with Little Bourke Street. You wont missed it if you just walk along Swanston Street from the direction of Flinders Station to Melbourne Central :).
Pho means rice noodle soup. Pho is pronounced as “fur”. So Pho Bo is called “fur ball”. I remember this conversation with Ivan about furball in our vietnam trip. hahaha. So cute!! Pho Bo means Beef Noodle Soup and Pho Ga means Chicken noodle soup in vietnamese. We went there around 9.30 am and luckily enough for us, the place is still quiet empty.
Simple and clean environment.
Hello Early Birds! No worms for you. Beef rice noodle soup can? hehe
Vietnamese Tea. Fragrant. Serve in the hot flask bottle to make sure its warm all the time. How thoughtful
If tea is not your thing, you can always opt for milk coffee.
Time for Food! We ordered Pho Bo Dac Biet. Pho Bo Dac Biet means Special mixed beef rice noodle soup!
AUD 8.9 for a small portion and AUD 9.9 for a regular portion.
The soup is sweet and flavorful. The beef is soft, tender and juicy. A very succulent meal. I am loving every bite of it.
It is served with a small portion of veges and lime. Added into the Pho makes the soup to a different level of refreshing. 😀
Okies. Too much of the Pho Bo Dac Biet. Dig in!! FYI, the portion is enough for two adults.
Next, we ordered another signature vietnamese dish. Chargrilled Pork Chop Broken Rice. AUD 9.5
I personally prefer the one at VietStar at Glenferrie Road but this one is not bad as well. Broken Rice aka Com tam is a fractured rice. Means only half grain.
Broken Rice is normally served with grilled pork chop, shredded pork, pork skin, fried egg, pork meatload and pickled vegetable, fresh vegetables and a bowl of special sauce.
You can easily finish up the whole plate. 😀
Happy people with happy food
Next up, Tom & Ga Cha Gio aka Prawn & Chicken Fried Spring Roll
AUD 5.5 for 4 and AUD 9.9 for 8.
Crunchy on the outside, juicy inside. have a bite!
By around 11am.. the place is packed with hungry eaters! And all of us left with a happy tummy!
