Orchid Garden, Grand Margherita is having a December Promotion from December 1-19.

Oooh.. the very cute decoration in front of Orchid Garden

The Theme for the December promotion is “Fried Rice Is Nice”

Its available ala carte for lunch and dinner. They have 10 types of Fried Rice in the menu and the price is RM 16.75++ per portion.

Oh.. before that.. Orchid Garden’s signature drink.. Teh Tarik!!

Everyone is rushing to snap a pic of it before the bubbles went off

Honey Lemon

and.. My hot Chocolate..
We mingled around before the food is served..

and Eileen show us this Christmas Shopping List… Roasted Turkey for Christmas anyone??

Christmas Desserts.. Roast lamb.. Cookies.. *yum yum*

Ahlost when she is bored..

Gerald when he is bored..

Eileen when she is bored. Muahahaha! So cute!!!
Since its only 5 of us.. we decided to try out only 6 types out of the 10.

1. Nasi Goreng Bario
Fragrant Brown Rice with Green Grown Herbs & Vegetables

2. Fried Rice Sumo
Garlic-flavoured, served with Fresh Salmon & Tuna Flakes

3. Nasi Goreng “Indonesia”
Topped with fried egg, keropok and satays

A lot of spices.. a lil bit sweet and sour.. a lil bit spicy on it. *yum*

4. Nasi Goreng “Madras”
Curry flavoured, served with prawns, bananas, pickles, mango chutney & papadam’

It is similar to Nasi Goreng “Indonesia” but with the special fruity sensation.

And this is the banana sauce. So special right!!

5. Nasi Goreng “Sarikei”
Served in Pineapple Boat topped with Chicken Floss & Raisins

It tasted like Thailand Pineapple Fried Rice just that its a lil bit sweeter

6. Nasi Goreng Kepiting
A Nyonya favourite with Crabmeat, eggs, sweet peas, tomato & cincalok
The sweet peas is really crispy it makes you crave for more

The photo taking session took about 45 minutes..

but the eating session only last for like 15 minutes. hohoho!

So whats my favourite among all? I personally like Fried Rice Sumo and Nasi Goreng “Indonesia”.
The other 4 types of Fried Rice are :
7. Nasi Goreng “Bintulu” (An original recipe fried with ikan bilis, black olive & belinjau crackers)
8. Vegetarian Fried Rice (With the freshest of Vegetables & served with belinjau crackers)
9. Yam Fried Rice (With Shredded duck, dried prawns & yam cubes)
10. Peppered Fried Rice (A hot favourite, fried with minced beef)

The nom nom people

Since we were young, we were told how important is the Mid Autumn Festival especially in a Chinese Culture family. The stories that laid behind, the moral of the story that will remain significant in one’s heart. Normally during Mid Autumn Festival, families will gather together to have a wonderful dinner, to strengthen the bond, to give more love. I remembered when i was young, Mid Autumn Festival is a very BIG festival. Just after dinner, my brother and i will rush to Daddy to ask him to carry the little pink table of ours to the veranda. Mummy will cut mooncakes and we will all sit together around the small tiny table to spend time together. Oh.. not forgetting the fancy lantern we had. Holding lanterns, holding papa mama’s hand and walked around the neighbourhood. How nice. I believed every good moments about Mid Autumn Festival is the memories we had over the years.

When the kids have grown up.. naturally the keen of playing with lantern had reduced. But sometimes even if we wanted to stroll around the neighbourhood again, its the parents who feel shy and reluctant to do it. HohOhoho. But maybe someday i will force them to do so again *grin*
However, although most of us had left out the lantern part, theres something we are still practicing it till today. A wonderful blessed dinner with the loved ones. And awesome enough, Grand Margherita provide you with a best venue to celebrate and enhance the tradition of Mid Autumn Festival.

Among the Winning Wine series….

Moet is my favourite!!

Presenting Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial.. ALthough its the entrance level but but… i still love it!
Apart from that… they provided different types of cocktail food to pair with all the four main winning wine.

Chicken fillet…

Beef steak with cheese sauce..

Fruity sweet prawn

Baby Octopus

Fruit tarts bar

Different types of buns

and most of all… CHEESE!!!

HOW CAN WINE GO WITHOUT CHEESEE!!

omg omg omg!!

Not only the cheese… The MAGGIE BEER jam!! it goes perfectly with the Australian cheese.

SEE!! i had the whole plate of cheezy stuff with me!!

Mind u.. the little blur knob is the blue cheese.. one of my very favourite. Just cant resist how delicious and sinful it is!!!

I like it this way… a slice of cheese, a knob of Maggie Beer Jam and blue cheese on a tiny piece of cream cracker. Heavenly Awesome!!
When most of the guests and press have arrived… The Introduction of the Winning Wine from the Riche Monde’s Brand Ambassador for Champagnes & Spirit, W.K Chong had finally started!!

Starting off with the speech given by W.K Chong about all the four winning wine of the day.

First of all will be the Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial Champagne from France

Yes yes yes.. the one i m holding. *wuakakaka*

The second winning wine.. from Argentina

The third winning wine.. from Argentina as well

Terrazas Malbec Vintage
And the fourth one…

Chandon Shiraz Vintage from Australia

Not only we were able to enjoy the wonderful session of wine and champagne tasting.. The Brand Ambassador, W.K Chong also shared his experience to explain the art of pairing on the spot as we were able to taste all the four different wine against the choice of meat available. However, the result of coupling is often flavourable.. it all depends on your own preferences..

The session ended around 8.30pm but three of us still stayed back for another session..

yes yes.. you’re right.. camwhoring session..
Not only us..

we pulled along… EILEEN!! hahaha!

Jason!

and….. The Brand Ambassador W.K Chong as well!!

SEE! how sporting he is…..

Oh.. and we wear almost the same pattern of dress!! *nyek nyek nyek*

and i love DysLing’s shoes….. *evil grin*
Apart from all all the winning wine.. They have plenty of top graded wine as well..

And the Good news is… Even the four winning wine will be available started on 6th August 2010 for both hotels, Grand Margherita and Riverside Majestic Hotel.
