It is not actually a travel guide.
Just a summary of the things i did last spring in Melbourne. It was my 3rd visit to Melbourne last year. Still the same old Melbourne I visited in the year 2009 and 2013. But this time, i decided to review my most preferred Airlines and Hotel to stay.
Qantas vs Emirates
I used Qantas to go Melbourne and back with Emirates. I would say I totally in love with Emirates. Emirates will be my top preferred airlines until someday some other airlines impressed me more than Emirates did.
My favourite airlines, Emirates. With stunning big screen and spacious legroom and of coz the spot on airline meals. The cheesecake is most probably the best I had throughout the entire trip. The ticket for a return trip from SG to MEL costed about SGD 700.
Place to Stay:
Adara Collins (collins street)
One of the best I had. The location is right at the center of Melbourne. Service is good and most importantly, it is impressively comfortable.
However, my last visit with Punthill Flinders Lane is a good one as well. Both compatible. Check the link here : Punthill Aparthotel Flinders Lane
Welcome to Melbourne
Instead of bring my ahzui (the cutest brown bear on earth) My brother made me to bring along this small milky bear XBB this time. Hello Xbb!
A shuttle bus from Melbourne Airport to Melbourne CBD gives you utterly beautiful sunset, together with in bus wifi of coz!
The 35 Things to do in Melbourne
1. Lune Croissanterie
One of the most discussed croissant in Melbourne. It was good. The flowery pancake is out of the expectation good as well!
2. Melbourne CBD ♥♥♥
When you visit Melbourne. The first things is to walk around the CBD, no matter how many times you have been here as a tourist.
3. Melbourne Central ♥
The signature tower, yes. Melbourne Central. I went to have a peak at the Melbourne Central Lion Hotel, its a pub that we had the famous ABC shots 9 years back with nana, ahleng, simon and hungsia. Fond memories.
4. Rare Steakhouse
Wanted to try a nice steak in Melbourne. Googled the most popular one and its kinda disappointing. Or maybe the locals prefer firm steak than the melt in the mouth type. Medium rare and its still way too firm for me.
5. Flagstaff Gardens for the Possums ♥
6. Yarra River ♥♥♥
7. Homecook Breakfast ♥
With cheap and fresh ingredients from Queen Victoria, Woolsworth and Coles. Its hard not to cook your own breakfast
8. Queen Victoria Market Must Eat ♥♥♥
a.) American Doughnut Kitchen
b.) The Bratwurst Shop
c.) The Borek Shop
9. South Melbourne ♥
Get away from the stunning CBD and explore the quiet side of South Melbourne. So chill. They also have a worth visit market called South Melbourne Market where you can buy everything you need. Apart from that, kitchenware lovers paradise it is. At the south melbourne area, they have these 3 storey kitchenware hall for you.
10. Visit a friend’s place at St Kilda Area
11. Homecook with friends
12. St Kilda Beach
St Kilda beach at night is a beautiful one as well. Not to worry, the beach at night is filled with tourists as well.
Day Three :
13. Brighton Beach Bath Boxes ♥
I guess it is the most popular place to visit?
14. Yo-Chi Self Service Yogurt Ice Cream at Balaclava
15. Queen Victoria’s Garden
16. Korean Food
17. Favourite Sweet Potatoes Chips ♥♥
18. Buy the Milk ♥
19. Maru Koala Park
20. The Nobbies ♥♥♥
Its my second time to the Nobbies. I still think its beautiful. Definately one of my favourite and recommended place to visit
21. Sichuan Food
22. Yum Cha @ Gold Leaf, Springvale
We queued for almost one hour for these. Nothing to shout about.
23. Dandenongs Range
24. Serendipity Fig Honey & Pistachio Ice cream ♥
25. Lorne Pier
26. Tofu Burger ♥♥♥
We randomly go to a shop on the way from Lorne Pier to Great Ocean Road, ive check and its most probably called The bottle of Milk. Cant quite remember but this is the BEST Tofu Burger i’ve tasted so far. Tofu Burger with kimchi and mushroom relish! Pack a punch!
27. Great Ocean Road ♥
28. Twelve Apostles ♥
Its my third time to the twelve apostles. The Twelves Apostles were formed by erosion. They have 8 left with one collapse dramatically in the year 2005. Still very majestic
29. Squueze with chinese tourists
I think the only different of me visiting the two apostles in 2009 and 2013 VS 2017 is that, there was not that much human beings that time. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!! We were shocked by the amount of people. You cant even grab a proper pictures as it was crowded! SCARY!!! The calm and harmonious feelings instantly gone!
30. Loch Ard Gorge ♥
My second time here. But this time, we have plenty of time to scroll around. I finally explored ever inch of this place. Nice!
31. Rent a car
There’s good and bad. Good thing, you can go and stop at anywhere you want during a road trip. Bad thing is, you need to pay for the freaking expensive parking in town after you are back from the road trip. Melbourne parking system is kinda complicated. First 15 mins free and it goes expensive after that. Not too recommended
Day Six :
32. State Library ♥♥
One of the most beautiful State Library I’ve visited. Do come for first comers
34. Try the beer
Of coz you might wanna try VB and all others Melbourne’s local beer but I’ve tried so many from the previous two trips. I wanted to find my favourite Stone Wood but end up with this.
35. Buy some premium Quality Quilt
This trip is most probably the least interesting and enjoyable trip. Thats y i would just do a summary instead of a proper travel guide. I should be the planner. I am proud to ensure that I am really a very good trip planner. This is the first time I had so many average food in a trip. So disappointing. However, not to complain because I really just come along to relax. Anyway, please read my other posts for Melbourne for Good Food! Oh those with lotsa ♥ is the one i love
