Melbourne CBD : Where to stay in Melbourne? Queen Victoria Market, Best Churros in Town

I’ve been searching for my second destination to travel this month. My own theory, traveling buy experiences. I have been searching for a calm and safe place for over few weeks di. Then i came across a lot of my pictures in my hard disk which i am too lazy to post previously. Add up to the recent condition of mine… suddenly dont feel like writing anything.. but… like i said, i make myself to write something once in a few days time. So hello, im here.

It was like 2 years ago when these pictures were taken. Traveling period : 19th August 2012 to 27th August 2012. Yes. Two years ago. >.<

Where to stay in Melbourne? I prefer to stay at Melbourne CBD. Punthill Apartment Hotel is my best choice. An aparthotel for a family of four like me is just nice. Location wise : 9/10 I feel like a genius when i found this aparthotel because theres hardly any nice place with the location as convenient as this one.

capture-20140801-032732You can never starve staying at Punthill Flinders Lane because it is surrounded by eateries. The yellow line i drew is where all kinds of eateries are. And just exactly beside the hotel is where i had my good runny egg Benedict. Not enough? Swanston street is just few streets away. Oh… and coles central supermarket. Walking distance. Another best thing about the locality, Flinders Station is just a block behind! How convenient can that be? I’ll definitely stay at Punthill Flinders Lane again in the next visit to Melbourne!

IMG_5536It is a 2 bedroom apartment hotel. With a nice cozy living room, dining area, kitchen, and clean spacious bathroom. Totally love in fall with this apart-hotel.

IMG_5539We mingle at the living room enjoying our meal almost everyday.

IMG_5549And our happy little angels.

Oh.. forgot to mention we had a quick lunch before checking in to Punthill ApartHotel.

IMG_5530Dropped by South Wharf DFO next to Melbourne Convention Center. You can access through the public transport. Stop at Southern Cross Station and you can see it..

IMG_5528Chose DFO because its like a Direct Factory Outlets, and i kind of remembered i bought quite a lot of stuff there back in 2009 but none this time. We then settled our lunch at the food court

IMG_5525The comfort food of all. Salmon Roll. AUD 2.00 per roll.

IMG_5526Some chinese dish – Fried rice, sweet and sour pork and some sesame meatballs

IMG_5527Another chinese dish – Fried beehoon, Kung po chicken and stir fry squid. Done

capture-20140801-034818And after checking in Punthill Flinders Lane, we explore a lil bit and hop into the bus that bring us to the famous Queen Victoria Market.

IMG_5555Love most of the stalls in the Queen Vic Market. Especially this one — Drago Bratwurst Sausages

IMG_5557

IMG_5558Simple yet flavorful.

IMG_5560The bratwurst sausage was grilled to perfection, sealing all the juice. So when you bite it, it just burst in your mouth. Soft, tender, juicy and flavorful, each bite of the bratwurst sausage give you the ohh-ahh effect. Yums!

IMG_5561And the dips and tapas. One thought of mine, how nice if i can stay a lil bit longer to try out all these.

IMG_5562Mama went to the outdoor area where all the fresh vegetables, nuts and fruits are. Bought a lot of macadamia nuts. Happy mama.

IMG_5574And there is this truck that sell spanish donuts and churros. We were curious at first because even when the vendor start selling, there is already a long queue. I love things that need to wait. So, i waited. AND i never regret. We found the best Churros throughout our 9 days stay in Melbourne. Ever since that time, we have been craving for Churros but none beats this one!

IMG_5581It was simple. I always believe, it is never easy to make a simple dish so delicious and impressive. Its not just ordinary churros dusted with sugar. Its the best churros we had. Crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the inside, and the crunch is just so fragrant. The sugar is not too sweet, just awesome.

IMG_5563Then with a happy and satisfied heart, we went to the market fair selling all kinds of food. We chose to try out the Turkish delights.

IMG_5567I’m not a big fans of Turkish Dessert. Its good, just… not for me 🙂

And with that, we ended our first day in Melbourne. For more information about Punthill Apartments Hotel :
