Seoul Travel Day 2 & 3 : Last day in Myeongdong, Namdaemun Market, Gwangjang Market

Travel to Seoul is like a trip to expand your waistline. And so is my practice of travel. It was a very short trip I remembered, I do not recommend for such a short trip to Seoul for first timer but for us, its fine. We just want to take a break and to feast on the food. So here’s my day 2 and 3, the last day of Myeongdong before we moved to Gangnam.

IMG_20171020_124404_mr1508481817734So we started off getting lost at the underground shopping street at myeongdong station 5 and we did spend a bit of time doing some spontaneous shopping with a good bargain. we then proceed to Namdaemun Market which is just around the corner from where we stayed.

So we reached Namdaemun Market, it was hot and sunny but beautifully preserved. The first thing that I am craving for is the “Sikhye”, a korean sweet rice drink. It was always my favourite, a slight sweetness from the fermented rice. yums!

and then my favourite fresh persimmons juice and Eomuk.

And some of the street food we’ve tried. Not too impressive but its alright, we loitered for a while, do some shopping before we decided to go back to rest. I think we were like piggies who just feel tired all the time. Hahahahahaha!

So we went back to take a nap, and out to hunt for food again at Myeongdong. It was all compiled and recorded here!! and OOTD!

So the next morning we went to the infamous Gwangjang Market!! The nearest station to Gwangjang Market is Jongno 5 ga, exit 8 where all the eateries are situated.

The soondae is best eat with salt. Its not too bad, away from all the possible fishy smell that you can imagine. Just soft and tender and please share this with others, its very filling too.

Mayak Gimbap actually look like this. They said it is called mayak gimbap (drug gimbap) because it is very addictive. To my surprise, its just ok. Maybe I have too much expectation to it.

Other must try will be Yukhoe (raw beef), Ganjang Gejang (raw crab marinated in soy sauce), Hokbakjuk (pumpkin porridge which i certainly love in my previous trip to korea). However, my tummy cant fit anymore of those anymore!! Its stuffed with all the soondae and gimbap!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO….
