Yien’s Recipe : Grilled Salmon

Posted by ~YienYien~ on Sep 13, 2010 in Foodie, Yien's Recipe

Tips : Use whatever you have in your fridge :D

For me, i had some overnight rice, salmon, onions, lemons, crab sticks and one potato

Stir fry garlics with butter until fragrant. Add in the rice.. and another knob of butter. Stir in an egg just before you take out the rice. I think the garlic butter rice is heavenly awesome! Will cook it again very soon!

Another wok, add in a knob of butter and few pieces of lemon. Like this!

Place salmon on top of the lemons.. You can smell the lemon with the salmon all the way cooking it. *yums*

At the meantime, just pan fry the potato sticks and crab sticks

When the salmon is done, use the excess salmon oil and the lemon grounded wok to stir fry the onions

and after that.. decorate it and everything is done!!!

Oh Oh oh Oh!

Oh.. remember to squeeze in more lemon juice on top of the onions and salmon…

But if you have cranberry sauce. its even better!

Medium raw *wee*

Yien’s Recipe : Fried Dumplings

Posted by ~YienYien~ on Sep 8, 2010 in Foodie, Yien's Recipe

*weee* Fried Dumplings!! Lets start!

For the Dough:

And this is the first time i made the dumpling skin myself!! *woots woots* Its a recipe from a friend’s mum. She said, the skin is easy.. just mixed flour and water and let it cool down for like 30 minutes.

Just like that, i tried to make the dough. At first it was very sticky.. but in my previous experience in making dough related stuff, the dough should be firm and silky to touch. Thus, i added more flour until it was less sticky. After that, left the dough to cool down for 30 minutes. For me, i used something to cover it just in case it dry up.

For the pork filling :

For the filling, i added in minced pork, onions and cabbage. Thats all.. make use of whatever left in my house :D Oh.. adding prawn into it will be even better. After that, stirred the fillings and added in some sesame oil, soy sauce, peppers, wine, and a lil bit of flour. Stir until you are happy with it.

The dough and filling are ready!!

Divide the dough into small cubes.. because i am sure you wont want your dumplings to be in different sizes.

Ahhh.. as i dont have people to photograph for me.. i dont have pictures of me folding the pleat on the dumplings. But its okay, because i didn’t do it well also. *teeehehe*

Something like this but you can always do whatever style you want :D

Add oil and pan fried the dumplings first until the bottom become golden brown. Thats the difference between dumplings and fried dumplings. haha!

After a while, add in flour water. The reason we should add in flour water is because it will make the bottom of the dumplings become crispier. Thus, making your dumplings firmer!! But i recommended the flour water to be reduced. I should have add in lesser because the outcome of the bottom was kinda too golden brown. So.. add less flour water ok!

Turn to medium low heat because you want the meat to be cooked before the flour water dried up.

AHHH!! flour water made your dumplings look silkier as well!! *nom nom nom* shinning skin!!

After the flour water is dried up! Your dumplings are ready to be served!!

Oh.. remember to flip the dumplings. They should be serve bottoms up!

Oh… hello juicy and crunchy dumplings!!

Yien’s Recipe : Random Big Breakfast

Posted by ~YienYien~ on Jul 23, 2010 in Desserts, Foodie, Yien's Recipe

Chicken pox made my day sooo awful….! I cant take peanuts, i cant take seafood, chicken, egg… sourish stuff… fried stuff.. ahh!! in short.. i can only eat plain porridge and some steamed vege! huhuhuhu!

One random morning.. as usual.. i haven been sleeping for the whole morning.. or night wadever u would like to say.. and randomly i come out with the thoughts of making a big breakfast which consist of Grilled sausages, Grilled bacon, sunny side up, pancakes, wild mushroom and grilled tomato with cheese…!! *slurps slurps*

Who knows when i open my fridge.. theres nth except eggs. =.= so i quickly went out to the nearest outlet to buy a package of bacon. and thats all. *sadness*

For the dough for the pancakes.. shift the flour, add in milk and sugar and mixed well… u can add in one egg to add more flavor for the pancake but for my case.. i dint.

Heat up the frying pan, add in a knob of butter

Without or without mound as u like.. for me, i use a love shape mound for my pancake..

My advice.. as thin as possible for the pancakes!! ^^

For bacon… add in salt and pepper to taste.

Add a knob of butter, pan fried the bacon until crispy. Or u can just stir fry until it’s cooked if u don like it to be crispy. =)

Next, get ready ur egg and thats all!!

Tada!! the random big breakfast without mushroom, tomatoes and sausages! *sobs*

Apart from that…. i received a gift of love from my DysLing!!

So sweet of her..and guess what she made for me??!

*slurps* According to her, add in some peach soft drinks which she bring one bottle for me as well and eat with it… love u dys!! i m so touched!
